Never. We believe professional quality shouldn't require invasive app installs or awkward video calls with strangers. Verity is 100% asynchronous. You upload directly from your browser, on your own time, without the pressure of a photographer staring at you through your screen.
We strongly recommend avoiding standard selfies. While you don't need a professional camera, arm-length selfies often distort facial proportions. For the best foundation, have a friend take a photo of you from the chest up using the back camera of a smartphone. (A tightly cropped selfie can work in a pinch). As long as your face is in clear focus, we can rebuild the rest. If your upload isn't strong enough, we'll email you personally to ask for a better one before we start.
No. That is the "Sticker Effect" common with bulk providers. We don't just swap the background; we relight you to match it. If you choose a sunny office backdrop, our artists digitally paint the corresponding light onto your face and shoulders so you look in the room, not just on it.
That is the goal. Lighting literally shapes your facial structure. A selfie usually has flat, accidental light. We use your photo as a foundation, then sculpt your features with intentional studio lighting. Don't compare the result to your selfie; compare it to a magazine cover.
